He averaged double digits in scoring in 25 ABA games and 13 Serbian League games. The Denver Nuggets selected him 41st overall in the 2014 NBA Draught. Despite finishing 10th in the ABA, Joki was awarded top prospect and MVP of the league.

As a rookie, Joki appeared in 80 games with the Denver Nuggets in 2015-16, averaging 10 points and seven rebounds per game. He had six triple-doubles and finished second in the NBA’s Most Improved Player poll. He enjoyed his greatest season of his career in 2018-19, averaging 20.1 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game.
